The most attractive features of Es Trenc
What does Es Trenc have that the rest of the beaches on the island of Mallorca do not? Although this beach borders two others and it is difficult to know where it starts and where it ends, it still offers special features that are hard to find.
Its width is barely 20 metres, while its length is approximately 2 kilometres. A great attraction is its crystal-clear water, as well as its fine white sand, which will remind you of other paradisiacal places in the world. To begin with its peculiarities, you can find it in a completely natural environment, so, effectively, it is a virgin beach.
The fact that it is an unspoilt environment does not mean that it is not visited. If you decide to travel to the island in summer, you'll need to find a spot on the sand early, as it tends to fill up with islanders and tourists who don't want to miss out on the beautiful scenery.
Precautions to be taken
The location of Es Trenc beach means that visitors seeking to enjoy it must be aware of certain limitations. This beach is located next to a protected dune system, which must be respected in order to stop its degradation.
Along the beach, you will see ropes that delimit the passage to the dune system. You must not go beyond them, as the plants found there are threatened and their growth is strongly altered by human presence.
Respect Es Trenc beach and your children will also be able to enjoy it as you have been able to do.
An encounter with history
In spite of its unspoilt, natural surroundings, on Es Trenc beach there are several defensive bunkers built during the war to prevent landings in the area. Although, fortunately, it was never necessary to use them, they are now decorated with verses by Miquel Costa i Llobera.
Es Trenc salt marshes
In addition to its white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, Es Trenc is known for its natural salt mines where pure, natural salt is obtained using traditional drying methods.
En Trenc salt has become a common souvenir of the area and is sold in different formats and flavours.
A romantic walk, with family or friends
The natural environment of Es Trenc beach offers a perfect setting to enjoy with your family, friends or partner. However, you should bring everything you need with you, such as a parasol, food and drink, sports equipment... There are no shops, restaurants or general services in the area.
This beach is also perfect for children as it has a wide visibility and there are no currents or strong tides that could be dangerous.
How to get to Es Trenc
This unspoilt beach is located within the limits of the town of Ses Salines (Las Salinas), in the south of the island of Mallorca. To be more specific, it is closer to the colony of Sant Jordi in the same municipality.
You will find it easier to get there by car, which you can hire once you arrive on the island. During the summer the traffic is very heavy, and the only option for parking is a paid car park which, during this time of year, is usually full. Es Trenc is a 15-minute drive from Hotel Colonial.
If you are coming from Palma de Mallorca, you can take a bus, specifically line 530, which arrives at Ses Covetes. Once you are at this destination, you will have no choice but to walk to this beach. There are also buses from Colonia de Sant Jordi, but from here the walk is somewhat longer.
Es Trenc beach offers you many emotions that you can share with your loved ones. If you love the sea and you like to encounter nature, fine sand and crystal clear water, this destination will fascinate you.
